Voice-directed antennas
Choose a bearing, city, or Maidenhead grid square, then issue a separate GO command to rotate.
Meet VoiceElmer — a voice-operated assistant for amateur radio. Point your antenna, look up callsigns, and find directions to cities or grid squares without reaching for another control.
“Elmer, point to grid CM98.”
VoiceElmer combines voice commands, an antenna compass, and amateur-radio location tools in one Windows application.
Choose a bearing, city, or Maidenhead grid square, then issue a separate GO command to rotate.
See actual azimuth alongside the selected target. Designed for both desktop and laptop operation.
Hear command acknowledgments and station information without shifting your attention from the radio.
Find station location information using QRZ lookup with your own QRZ account credentials.
Use an offline city database and grid-square calculations to find bearings from your station.
Recognition and synthesized voice run on your computer. QRZ lookups require internet access.
Rotator movement stays intentional: selecting a target does not move the antenna until GO is requested.
Speak the wake word through your chosen microphone.
Tell Elmer the city, grid square, callsign, or compass bearing.
Issue the motion command, then watch heading feedback in the compass.
We want operators to know exactly which interfaces are tested today and which are still in development.
Already demonstrated with real rotator hardware.
Receive-side commands will be developed and tested before general release.
VoiceElmer is being prepared for public release. The intended introductory price is $12, including one year of updates. Your installed version keeps working when that year ends.
Core voice processing is local after installation. Online lookup services, including QRZ, need a connection.
Yes. The planned license is permanent for the version you own; renewal only extends the upgrade period.
It has been installed and tested on a Windows laptop, including microphone and speaker setup.
Not yet. Those CAT integrations are on the development roadmap and will be marked supported only after testing.
